Options for Women

All vocations are unique, special, and necessary for the Church.  Each comes with specific graces to help the vocation to excel in holiness for the greater honor and glory of God. It is important to remember that each person's vocation is pre-planned by God for the best happy ending. The Lord knows which vocation each person will chose before it is chosen, and is always looking out for the needs of the Church.

Explore each possibility thoroughly to see if that particular lifestyle matches well to the person you want to become.  Do not choose a vocation by what it will “get you”; choose it by the plan God has for you.

Church Vocations


Silent Version:

An hour of quiet reflection to be used by a parish or by an individual for private prayer.

 

Note to Leader: Provide one Bible for each participant.

 

Select a passage–five to ten verses from the Bible (see the passages listed below).


Find a place where you will be alone, not bothered, and free to move, speak, and be uninhibited in your
response to God’s presence.
   

Find a comfortable posture, relaxed and peaceful.


Be aware of the presence of God. Acknowledge and respond to it.


Pray the passage from Scripture.


Listen to the message God has for you.


Read, whisper aloud so you can hear, see, say God’s word—very slowly.


Rest on any words that call you to respond in a grateful, loving way—always in truth.


Read on, when nothing seems to happen.


When the time is up, thank God for speaking to you.
